It’s been a while
Things have been crazy all summer at my house. How have you faired the hot months?
We’ve had higher than normal temperatures and less than normal finances so we stayed around home all summer long. We didn’t even get to take a weekend camping trip. All-in-all, though, we’re relatively healthy and trying to get back in the swing of a new school year.
I’ve been freelance writing all summer long, so that’s kept me busy. In fact, I’m taking a break from writing to post this. Well, truth be told, I haven’t actually gotten started yet. *blush* But, I have four articles I need to write and then send them along with the rest. I hope to get them done very shortly.
After the writing is done I’ll be able to really relax during Sabbath instead of being worried about having work to do. I’m really looking forward to our Sabbath rest. It is such a blessing knowing that Abba Father has promised us that we can enter His rest each week. Since He rested from His work after six days, we are given that same blessing of a day of rest. You bet I’m taking it! Why would anyone want to give up that gift?
One thing that’s different about this summer is we’ve been buying fruit in larger amounts than normal. So far this summer my husband has been making jam. He made fig jam from his mom’s tree, cherry and peach jam, plus we have pears in our yard that he’ll likely be making jam from soon. He may try making pear relish at the suggestion of a friend. We’ll see. The pears aren’t quite ripe yet.
Speaking of pears, one fell out of the tree and cracked our windshield! I couldn’t believe it. Who would’ve thunk a piece of fruit could do that? Anyhow, it’s not in the way of my driving so I guess it’ll wait to be fixed.
Hubby is still taking his plumbing classes. I’m thinking he’ll be done some time in October. That’s really not that far away but it still seems like forever. He’s doing really well in the classes but then he DOES have almost 20 years experience under his belt. It’ll be nice that he’ll have a journeyman’s license when he’s done. Of course, after that he’ll get to start looking in earnest for job. So, any prayers said on his behalf in that regard will be greatly appreciated.
Well, the work’s not getting done this way, so I’d better get to it. Have a great Sabbath and weekend!
