Phone Call from Heaven
We had my father-in-law’s funeral yesterday. His brother-in-law gave an eulogy of sorts. Among his comments was that if you weren’t sure if you know where you’ll spend eternity, time was drawing close to where you may not have that option much longer. He particularly meant that comment for two of my father-in-law’s brothers.
When I woke up this morning, the thought came to my mind “wouldn’t it be great if we could get a phone call from heaven?” Wouldn’t that be awesome? If you have family members who aren’t believers, you could get them on the phone with someone who’s recently passed who could give them the ‘low-down’ on what to expect.
Who would you want to speak with from friends and family who have gone on before you? What would you want to ask them? Would you even want to take the call?
I’m praying that my husband’s uncles will find their way to a relationship with God, however I (and the rest of the family) have to face the prospects that they may never make that decision. All we can do is pray for them, live out a Christian life before them, and give them opportunity. The actual wooing and convicting of their need for a Savior will come from God Himself.
Would I want to take a phone call from heaven? You bet I would! I have so many questions, but you know, I’ll have all eternity to get my questions answered. How about you?
