Oops, I forgot
I have a number of articles that are due today, 10 to be exact, and I’ve been working on them as hard as I can. I have 5 completed, praise the Lord, but I still have 5 to do. Whew! Sometimes finding the words to write is like pulling hen’s teeth. It’s not that I have writer’s block, I just can’t seem to get my mind wrapped around my subject matter.
I know what I need to do. I’ve researched my topic; it’s even a topic I know something about. How hard can it be? Well, apparently, it’s a lot harder than I thought because I’m struggling to get the words on the virtual paper.
Maybe I need to try actually writing my articles out, you know, with a REAL pen and piece of paper? Nah! That would just slow me down even more. I can see in my mind’s eye the pile of crumpled paper spilling out of my garbage can and out underneath my chair. It’s probably better if I don’t subject my family to that. Besides, it’s so much easier to highlight, delete, and retype than to have to re-write a 600-800 word article. Besides, then I’d just have to type it. Typing it to begin with saves me a step.
What I’d really like to do is just take a break. I know the day is young, but I’ve been working hard. The problem is that the deadline (and my pay) looms in the not-too-distant future. So, I’m going to keep plugging and hope that I’m done soon.
Then, it’ll be off to the next assignment – another 10 articles (not quite as long, though) and some editing. I’ve already promised myself that come Saturday, I’m not going to do any work. I may check my email for assignments for next week, but I’m going to spend the day with my family. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.
Well, have a great Thursday, and I’ll try to remember to stop in and post tomorrow. Be blessed!
