Maybe we should ask for a vote!

March 5, 2008 by · 1 Comment

I just found out that Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00a.m. this Sunday. Isn’t that pushing things a little bit? It seems we just “fell back.” Now it’s time to “Spring forward” again.

I think we should have a vote and see just how many people like DST. I think the vast majority of people are tired of having their lives interrupted by time changing. I wonder, with the changes being made, is my VCR going to set itself like it should? What about my computer? Will I have to go and manually fix everything electronic in my home?

My personal opinion is this – just average the difference out over 24 hours, and then LEAVE IT ALONE! A half hour earlier in the morning, a half hour later in the evening, and it would average out. Then we could leave it as is and no one would ever get confused about what time it is again.

How about you? If given a chance to vote, would you like it to remain as it is or go the way of the dodo bird and become extinct?

Have a great Wednesday!

    Absolutely!!!

http://www.standardtime.com (currently down) proposes the half-hour thing, PLUS making the US only TWO time zones, with a two-hour difference (in other words, the west half would be noon while the right half would be 2pm). Makes sense to me!
