Happy New Year!

crossroad3.jpgYou’re standing at a crossroad. You must choose which road you will follow. Behind you lies 2007. You can’t go back. However, you do have a choice on the direction this new year will take.

Do you boldly go straight forward knowing with certainty that what you desire lies ahead? Or do you take a detour from your past onto a road less traveled? Who knows where the left road will lead? What about the road to the right? You’re the only one who can choose your direction, but if you’re wise, you’ll seek the Master MapMaker’s guidance before you make the choice.

Yep, in less than 10 hours 2007 will be over and 2008 will be just beginning. It’s at times like this that it’s important to take a look back over the past year, and make plans for new year. I know there are some things I need to consider doing differently.

The big one is that need to take better care of myself. I want my kids to grow up with a mommy - and I want that mommy to be ME!! I’ve not been taking very good care of myself this past year. In fact, I’ve kind of been whiny and complacent about my health, as a general rule. There are things that I can do to improve my health, even if I AM somewhat limited in what exercises I can do. I may not be able to run a marathon, but I can exercise self-restraint when it comes to eating. That in itself might be the hardest exercise program to begin with!

So, what have you accomplished during 2007 - on a personal level, professional level, have you created lasting, meaningful relationships? I’ve reconnected with some people that I met last year, and they have become quite important to my family and I. Now, I can’t imagine them not being a part of our lives.

On a professional level, things are looking up with regard to my writing. I think I can actually say that I’m excited about next year’s prospects! That’s something I haven’t been able to say in quite a LONG time.

I pray that your New Year’s Eve is safe and filled with fun. I also pray that 2008 will usher in a new sense of purpose, passion, and prosperity in all areas of your life. May God, the Master MapMaker, richly bless you as you forge ahead into 2008!

This year I’ve vowed to not just stick to the ’straight & narrow’ path which tends to be my comfort zone. I intend on stepping in whatever direction God desires me to step & I’m sure that means stepping even farther out of my comfort zone. But I’m ready because for once I finally realize that God won’t lead me to anything that isn’t best for me or anything that He won’t bring me through.

So my motto for 2008 is Bring it On!

I totally agree that God will not bring you to anything that He won’t see you THROUGH. I also believe that He only allows what will be good for you, ultimately. Does that mean that we have to like what we go through while we’re going through it? No. But knowing that HE is in control sure does help!!

    Blessings for your New Year!
