A day in the life of . . .

The FRUSTRATION of it all!

I know I’ve complained about our electricity flipping on and off. Well, yesterday it did it three times. I was so frustrated I called the electric company and complained. They sent some people out to check things out.

Well, after “THEY” got finished (and found something that had been struck by lightning), they left. About an hour after that, my internet went down. Yes, gone, it would not come back on.

So, I called the internet company and spent at least 25 minutes on hold (don’t you just love elevator music?) and finally got to speak with someone. Of course, they didn’t speak the best English, but we muddled through.

They set up an appointment for the technician to come out this morning between 8 and 11. 10:30 rolls around, and they still haven’t made it or even given me a call. So, back on hold I go until I can talk to someone.

They told me there was an outage in my area, and they canceled my service call. Nice of them to let ME know that! Here I was frantically scrambling to make my house more presentable, and they don’t even have the common decency to show up. How’s that for a stinky day?

Needless to say, out of all the frustration and stress of 1) being without internet (does it sound like I’m addicted?), and 2) trying to clean when I didn’t feel well, and 3) the boys not helping me much, I really wasn’t my best behaved. I certainly won’t be winning any “Mother of the Year” awards for TODAY’s display of mothering skills.

Well, the internet is back on, and I can get back to doing my work. Maybe I’ll actually get caught up to where I SHOULD be. I sure hope so.
