A day in the life of . . .

Thank God it’s Friday!

This has been an interesting week. Starting on Sunday where we spent almost 12 – yes I said 12 – hours at church to Wednesday when I found out the report I was working on was ALL wrong, and I’d have to do major revisions. Now, today is Friday, and it’s likely that it’ll be busy, too.

Fridays are pretty crazy usually for us. My hubby gets up and heads off to work, and I TRY to catch a few extra minutes of peace before the boys start making noise. As usual, on Friday especially, they decide to get up BEFORE Daddy goes to work, so there’s no chance for that peace before the day starts.

Then, it’s time to get up and referee the boys . . . . um, I mean get them started on school. Before you know it, the day’s in full-force, try-to-catch-your-breath-if-you-can mode and that’s all before lunch. It’s crazy!

We generally have lunch with my sweetie and I also pick up his paycheck to put it in the bank. This keeps him from having to go to the bank when he gets off of work. It also gets the money IN the bank before the 2:00p.m. deadline for Friday’s business day. (That’s ALWAYS a good thing.) After the bank, we usually pay a few bills and then head home to wait for Daddy to return home.

He’ll rest a few minutes, take a shower, and then up to our friends in Scottsboro. It’s a long-standing appointment. Almost 6 years, now. Heck that’s longer than some marriages have been going on. In fact, in almost 6 years, we may have missed maybe 12 weekends where we HAVEN’T spent time with each other. I would easily consider them our best friends.

At this point, I don’t know what tomorrow holds. But that’s nothing unusual. I guess we’ll play it by ear like we always do. Undoubtedly we’ll sleep in (if the boys will let us) and relax. It IS the Sabbath, and that’s what it was made for – a day of rest and relaxation.
