Help! I have writer’s block!

Writer’s block, the bane of writers the world over, has come and made a home in my head. I have some writing I’ve been working on, and have hit that proverbial wall. I just can’t get the writing going, no matter how hard I try, and how many different times I begin. Sigh, I hate it when this happens. :( I sure hope that it doesn’t stick around too long, I need to get this done.

I’ve been working diligently on the Bible study that I’m doing with some of my homeschool mom friends.  We didn’t get to meet today because our fearless leader had a doctor’s appointment, but that gave me a chance to catch up from where I got behind.

She’ll be glad to know, too, that I’ve actually been working on it.  At the end of each daily lesson, they ask the question:  What is God teaching you through this study?  You’ll be glad to know, my friend, that I DO know how to listen. ;)   Here’s what I put down as an answer for today’s lesson:

I believe God is telling me that He DOES care about what I deal with on a daily basis, the big things and even the little things. He DOES care if I’m growing, or if I’m stagnated in my walk with Him. What I need to do is to diligently, CONSISTENTLY (see I do know how to use the word ;) ) seek Him first instead of trusting in myself or running to someone else. Even though He can use friends and family to speak to me, to give me insight that I might not see for myself, He definitely will use His Word. If I will commit to my daily time with Him, even if it’s only for a few minutes, He will bless my obedience by becoming more real to me each day.

On another front, my hubby calls me around lunch time to chat. He doesn’t usually do that, so I was getting kind of worried. He told me that he felt that people at church had been giving him the “cold shoulder” lately, and that he’s wondering if we need to stay there or if it’s time for us to move on.  I’ve wondered about staying myself, especially after the last couple of weeks, but the kids really like it there.  We’ll BOTH have to come to the conclusion about which to do – I’m not going to allow my kids to keep me from being obedient if it’s time for us to leave.  I’ll let you know what we decide . . .

Have a great Wednesday and be blessed!

Maybe the writers block is your brains way of telling you that you need to step away from the writing for a bit. I know that other writers say that if they come to that wall that they have to walk away for a couple hours or even a couple days and then come back and when they come back they finish the project easily. :-)

Thanks for the suggestion, Tishia. I actually did take a break last night – went out for a little while with the family – and then came back and was able to finish the project.

Now, all I have to do, is keep the work up while I’m in the zone. :D
