A day in the life of . . .
Yesterday was a looong day

I think I’ve mentioned that my hubby is in the choir at church. They have to be ready to
practice, so that means they have to be there an hour before church starts. Right now, we’ve gone back to two services – 9a.m. and 11a.m. That means we have to be there at 8a.m. Since we live over 1/2 hour away, that means we need to leave around 7:10a.m. or so. And, since we’re having small group AFTER church, that means we have to stay for both services or try to find something to do for two hours while we’re waiting for small group. It makes for a VERY LONG day. We didn’t get home yesterday until around 4p.m. Hubby and I were completely worn out, the kids just wanted to play.
So, hubby stretched out on the recliner and I took a snooze on the bed. The kiddos played “Lego Star Wars” on the GameCube while we slumbered. Unfortunately, since I snoozed for a couple of hours, I really wasn’t that tired when it was bedtime. I think I tossed and turned for quite a while before finally drifting off to sleep.
Today, thrill of all thrills, my oldest wakes up not feeling well. He’s already thrown up once, and still says he doesn’t feel well. He’s done a little bit of school work, but not much. The youngest has decided since his brother’s sick, HE doesn’t have to do school work either. Ha! I may not push the subject very hard, but he WILL get it done. Mama said so!
I’m guessing the kids picked up something at church (or the grocery store on Saturday), and that’s what’s making the oldest not feel well. I’ve been light-headed, but otherwise I feel okay. Hubby seems to be doing fine, too. The youngest has a runny nose. I’m hoping and praying that my oldest keeps it to himself.
I hope everyone enjoys the cooler weather – and remember fall’s officially just six days away. Have a great one, and God bless!
